A Poem
The anthem of the watched
Is danced upon the skin,
The light sting of hairs lifted,
Twisting and turning, dervishes
On burning sand, ice dancers
Half-poised to plummet.
To watch yourself is to live alight,
Electricity crawling from vein to vein,
Cell to cell, hair to hair,
Caught between leaping and falling.
