A Poem
*On Paige Bradley, Expansion, Half Life (Bronze Sculpture, 2004)
The sky cascades
Lights streaking down
And she sits
Cross-legged, arms open
Elbows sharp, fingers pinched
Muscles taut, head back
Faces tilted ever upwards
As golden fire trickles down
Burning and cracking the white bronze
Of her breasts, stomach, legs.
The universe crashes down,
Light into darkness: and she expands.
